The plot takes us to 300 B.C. in what is now China, a time when the region was divided into seven warring states. Shin, a war orphan from the Qin kingdom, has become a slave. He dreams of becoming a great general, and together with his friend Hyou, experiences a radical turn in his life when Hyou is chosen to double for Ei Sei, the King of Qin. The ensuing events propel Shin to join the army, sharing his King's dream of unifying the seven states. The battles depicted are of astounding magnitude, and through intense campaigns, the story immerses us in moments of grandeur, horror, and strategy.
